This exclusive, not previously traversed by tourists, new horse route is in one of the most beautiful parts of the mountains of Kyrgyz Republic, which is also a national reserve. Due to the fact that these places are completely unpopulated and rarely visited by people, all flora and fauna (lakes, rivers, thousands of varieties of mountain flowers and other vegetation) has wonderfully preserved here its extraordinary beauty intact. It is possible to sight mountain goats, deer, badgers, marmots, mountain turkey, a variety of eagles and other bird species.

Riding skills are required, we recommend You to get riding lessons before your arrival.

Make sure to take with you:

  • Jumper, windbreaker, cap, hat and sunglasses;
  • Tourist shoes (mountain) and indoor shoes;
  • Sleeping bag (comfort 0C), the mattress;

New horse trekking route starts from two beautiful lakes of Kyrgyzstan: Issyk-Kul and Son-Kol.

Issyk-Kul (hot lake) — the largest lake in Kyrgyzstan. It is the 6th deepest lake in the world. Located in north-eastern part of the country. The lake is untrained with around 80 inflows . Issyk-Kul is comparable to the sea by its size and the degree of salt water (170 km long, 60 km wide, 700 m deep), located on the altitude of 1600 m and surrounded by mountains with lots of great rivers, lakes, and forests.

The unique nature of Issyk-Kul coast combines freshness and fragrance of mountain and sea climates. The number of sunshine hours is 2700, which is more than in the Black Sea. For comparison, the hours of sunshine in Moscow are 1700 hours.


Son-Kul- is the second largest lake in Kyrgyzstan, located on the 3016 meters above sea level. It is 29 km in length, 18 km wide and the maximum depth of the lake is 13.2 meters. Lake stands by its crystal clear fresh water and location. Son-Kul lake is frozen and covered with ice from September to June.

The lake is located on a mountain plain, surrounded by meadows (jailoo). An average water temperature is -3.5 ° C, while in summer the water warms up to 11 ° C. 200 days of the year the lake is covered with snow. During the winter the lake temperature drops to -20 ° C , and it is almost impossible to climb to it.

Tour program

Day 1: Arrival in Bishkek.

Meeting at the airport, transfer - 30 km to Bishkek and accommodation in a hotel.

Day 2: Bishkek – Issyk-Kul (Cholpon – Ata)

Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Cholpon Ata, Issyk-Kul. The highway leads to Chui valley - green oases along the Chu, the largest river in Central Asia. The views of Ala-Too(Beautiful mountains) open on the way. After 2 hours the mountain valley landscape is replaced by serpentines of the beautiful Boom gorge. It is contrasty: the picturesque and commercial.

There are cafes with Asian food, sales of fish, honey, kymyz (mare's milk) local specialties. Get close to nature, listen to the noise of river Chu, which is visible from the bird's-eye view. In an hour the Gorge will finally open the great miracle - panorama of majestic Issyk Kul. We will stay in a boarding house "Neptune" in the village Korumdu, 30 km from Cholpon Ata. We will visit the sights Cholpon Ata, then we will sail to the center of Issyk-Kul on the white boat, swim in in the lake and take sanitary sun tan. In the evening we will return to boarding house to have a dinner and spend the night.

Day 3: Grigoriev Gorge.

Breakfast in the boarding house Neptune. Departure to Grigoriev Gorge. Grigoriev Gorge is considered as one of the most famous landmarks in Issyk-Kul. The sweet smell of pine trees, green mountain slopes, the noise of the mountain river create the perfect atmosphere for you. Beautiful Tien-Shan fir-trees grow in this canyon. There are many yurts in the gorge, where you can taste the Kyrgyz national cuisine. You will enjoy the views of fundamental nature majestic mountains.

You can also walk or ride on horseback, enjoying the natural environment; seeing semi-wild yaks, demonstrations of handicraft art, and horse riding art, listening folk music, drinking koumiss and even participating in the installation of the yurt in real Kyrgyz atmosphere. Also, you can hunt with gorgo eagles. Then we return to the boarding house, have a lunch and relax, enjoying a swimming in the Issyk-Kul lake. Dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Son-Kul.

Breakfast in the bording house. In the morning we leave to the Son-Kul lake. On the way we will visit craft workroom in the Kochkor village. Break for shopping and lunch. Then we will cross Kalmak Ashu (3446 m), and have a picnic in the fresh air. Then we head to Son-Kul lake. Stop at the yurt camp.

The half of twenty yurts is for tourists, the other half is for locals, offering the services for guests. Tourists have an opportunity to get involved with Kyrgyz nomadic lifestyle, traditions and culture. Dinner and overnight in a yurt at an altitude of (3106 meters).

Day 5: Son-Kul

Breakfast. The entire day will be devoted to the horse rides in a group and individually. You will have an excellent opportunity to learn in details the life of a nomad and enjoy the beauty of nature, as well as have time to calm, find yourself which is hard to do in the hectic world. It will be a great opportunity not only to stay in the national yurt but quench the thirst with the Kyrgyz national drink koumiss. Koumiss is made with the unique technology from the horse milk and has a number of medicinal advantages for health.

Then by horse, we will go to the highlands to enjoy the panoramic view of the Son-Kul. There is a lake in Tien Shan mountains at an altitude of three thousand meters. The beauty and amazingly clean air of it may be the best cure for you and your soul. In the evening we will be back to the yurt camp. Dinner and overnight in yurt.

Day 6: Arrival in Bishkek.

Return to Bishkek and accommodation in the hotel. Breakfast, lunch, dinner and relaxation. • Hotel check-in (from 2 to 4 people in the room)

Day 7: Chychkan Valley (251 km) - Koshbulak.

Breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, we leave towards the Chychkan gorge. This legendary road that runs from the Chui valley into the world of sky-high mountains through a 3 km long tunnel at the Too Ashuu pass (altitude 3586m) and then into the Ferghana valley, has linked China and ancient Osh to the West Asia and Europe for thousands of years. By lunchtime, we arrive at OSON motel (in the Chychkan Gorge), and have lunch.

After lunch there is a half hour trip to Koshbulak area (the confluence of two rivers). Here, the quiet Kyrgyz mountain horses are waiting for us, that are accustomed to enduring difficult mountain crossings with experienced guides. They can be relied upon fully. There will be an introduction, a small briefing, test horse riding. Then dinner.

Day 8: Saymalytash.

After breakfast, we climb to the top of the pass Kapka (3000m. 4hours drive). We have a little camp and rest. On the way, we can sight a flock of sheep and goats grazing on the green meadows under the supervision of the strong shepherds, who have been continuing the work of their fathers from generation to generation.

And we continue along the route down to the valley with an unusually beautiful nature, mountain streams and clean spring water, and camp at the foot of the mountain Saimaly - Tash (3000m), which is a historical place, whose rock paintings are of interest to archaeologists from all over the world. Horse riding time is 4 hours. Dinner.

Day 9: Kichikanatchuu.

After the morning warm-up, breakfast, we go up to the top of the mountain Saimaly - Tash, and then down to the beginning of the valley KichiKanatchuu (4 hours). There we have a small camp and rest.

We continue along the route up the valley and within one and a half hours arrive at the foot of the mountain pass ChonKanatchuu (3200m), and then climb to the top of the pass on foot (3700m), to view the beauty of nature, and then return to the foot of the pass (3 hours). Dinner

Day 10: Tundukunkur

Incredible view of a mountain sunrise and a hot breakfast give us an excellent mood, and the charge for the new route. We continue our way to the mountain range Ular Tash (3200m).

Small camp and rest. Next, we go to the cave Tunduk unkur (4 hours), which is a place that resembles a Kyrgyz yurt with the open top. Dinner.

Day 11: Chechekty (Flower Valley)

After breakfast, we continue along the route of absolutely unpopulated places, into the realm of pure pristine nature of the mountain. We enjoy the views of these countless beauties from the top of the pass Chechekty (3300m) and descend into the valley Chechekty (Flower Valley) - 4 hours.

Small camp and rest. Our route will pass through an indescribable beauty of the valley and reach the area Tashkapka. 4 hours. Dinner.

Day 12: Kapka

Breakfast. We continue our path along the Chechekty valley, enjoying the beauty of pristine nature, and have a small rest and camp after four hours.

We go further down the valley, descend through the lower pass Chechekty and arrive to the lake Kichi - Kol in the Kaysarsaz area at an altitude of 2500 meters (3 hours) Dinner.

Day 13: Kaysarsaz
