Bishkek – Chychkan valley – Saymalytash - Kichi-Kanatchuu - Kapka - Kaysarsaz - Chychkan valley - Son-Kul - Issyk-Kul - Grigoriev Gorge - Issyk-Kul - Bishkek.

This exclusive, not previously traversed by tourists, new horse route is in one of the most beautiful parts of the mountains of Kyrgyz Republic, which is also a national reserve. Due to the fact that these places are completely unpopulated and rarely visited by people, all flora and fauna (lakes, rivers, thousands of varieties of mountain flowers and other vegetation) has wonderfully preserved here its extraordinary beauty intact. It is possible to sight mountain goats, deer, badgers, marmots, mountain turkey, a variety of eagles and other bird species.

Riding skills are required, we recommend You to get riding lessons before your arrival.

Make sure to take with you:

  • Backpack;
  • Jumper, windbreaker, cap, hat and sunglasses;
  • Tourist shoes (mountain) and indoor shoes;
  • Sleeping bag (comfort 0C), the mattress;
  • Rider helmet.

Day 1: Arrival in Bishkek.

Meeting at the airport, transfer - 30 km to Bishkek and accommodation in a hotel.

Day 2: Chychkan Valley (251 km) - Koshbulak.

We leave towards the Chychkan gorge. This legendary road that runs from the Chui valley into the world of sky-high mountains through a 3 km long tunnel at the Too Ashuu pass (altitude 3586m) and then into the Ferghana valley, has linked China and ancient Osh to the West Asia and Europe for thousands of years.

By lunchtime, we arrive at OSON motel (in the Chychkan Gorge), and have lunch. After lunch there is a half hour trip to Koshbulak area (the confluence of two rivers). Here, the quiet Kyrgyz mountain horses are waiting for us, that are accustomed to enduring difficult mountain crossings with experienced guides. They can be relied upon fully. There will be an introduction, a small briefing, test horse riding. Then dinner.

Day 3: Saymalytash.

After breakfast, we climb to the top of the pass Kapka (3000m. 4hours drive). We have a little camp and rest. On the way, we can sight a flock of sheep and goats grazing on the green meadows under the supervision of the strong shepherds, who have been continuing the work of their fathers from generation to generation.

And we continue along the route down to the valley with an unusually beautiful nature, mountain streams and clean spring water, and camp at the foot of the mountain Saimaly - Tash (3000m), which is a historical place, whose rock paintings are of interest to archaeologists from all over the world. Horse riding time is 4 hours. Dinner.

Day 4: Kichikanatchuu.

After the morning warm-up, breakfast, we go up to the top of the mountain Saimaly - Tash, and then down to the beginning of the valley KichiKanatchuu (4 hours).

There we have a small camp and rest. We continue along the route up the valley and within one and a half hours arrive at the foot of the mountain pass ChonKanatchuu (3200m), and then climb to the top of the pass on foot (3700m), to view the beauty of nature, and then return to the foot of the pass (3 hours). Dinner.

5 день: Тундук Ункур

Н Incredible view of a mountain sunrise and a hot breakfast give us an excellent mood, and the charge for the new route. We continue our way to the mountain range Ular Tash (3200m).

Small camp and rest. Next, we go to the cave Tunduk unkur (4 hours), which is a place that resembles a Kyrgyz yurt with the open top. Dinner.

Day 6: Chechekty (Flower Valley)

After breakfast, we continue along the route of absolutely unpopulated places, into the realm of pure pristine nature of the mountain. We enjoy the views of these countless beauties from the top of the pass Chechekty (3300m) and descend into the valley Chechekty (Flower Valley) - 4 hours.

Small camp and rest. Our route will pass through an indescribable beauty of the valley and reach the area Tashkapka. 4 hours. Dinner.

Day 7: Kapka

Breakfast. We continue our path along the Chechekty valley, enjoying the beauty of pristine nature, and have a small rest and camp after four hours.

We go further down the valley, descend through the lower pass Chechekty and arrive to the lake Kichi - Kol in the Kaysarsaz area at an altitude of 2500 meters (3 hours) Dinner.

Day 8: Kaysarsaz

After a good breakfast, our path will go through the lakes Kichi-Kol, Chon -Kol and reach the pass (6 hours, a smallcamp and rest on the way), where we will be picked up by the cars at the Chychkan gorge (2 hours away).

Day 9: Son-Kul.

Breakfast. After breakfast we leave to the Son-Kul lake. We have to go all the way through the valley Suusamyr towards Kochkor village. On the way we will visit a craft workroom in the Kochkor village and have a break for shopping and lunch.

Then we will cross Kalmak Ashu (3446 m), and have a picnic in the fresh air. After this we head to the Son-Kul lake and stop at the yurt camp. Half of the twenty yurts is for tourists, the other half is occupied by the locals, who offer the services for guests. Tourists have an opportunity to get involved with Kyrgyz nomadic lifestyle, traditions and culture. Dinner. Accomodation - yurt at an altitude of (3106 meters).

10 день: Сонкуль

Breakfast. The entire day will be devoted to the horse rides in a group and individually. You will have an excellent opportunity to learn in details the nomadic lifestyle and enjoy the beauty of nature, as well as have time to calm and reflect, which is very valuable in today’s hectic world. It will be a great opportunity not only to stay in the national yurt but also to quench the thirst with the Kyrgyz national drink koumiss.

Koumiss is prepared according to the unique procedure from the horse milk, and it possesses many medical properties. We then ride on horseback to the highlands to enjoy the panoramic view of the Son-Kul. It is a lake, situated in the Tien Shan mountains, at an altitude of three thousand meters. Its beauty and amazingly clean air is an excellent cure for your body and soul. In the evening we will return to the yurt camp. Dinner.

Day 11: Issyk-Kul (Cholpon – Ata)

After breakfast we depart to the Issyk-Kul lake. After 3 hours drive, we begin to see the majestic and magnificent panorama of the lake Issyk Kul. We stop at the Neptune boarding house, located at Korumdu and 30 km from Cholpon Ata city. There is lunch and rest. We will do the sightseeing of Cholpon Ata city.

We will also sail on the boat to the center of the lake Issyk-Kul, where we will have a swim from the boat in the deep waters of the lake, and relax and have refreshments with a beautiful view around. We will return back to the Neptune boarding house by the evening, where we will have dinner and spend the night. Accommodation - in “Neptune” boarding house.

Day 12: Grigoriev Gorge.

After breakfast at the Neptune boarding house, we will depart to the Grigoriev gorge. Grigoriev gorge is considered to be one of the most famous landmarks in Issyk-Kul. The sweet smell of pine trees, green mountain slopes, the noise of the mountain river create the perfect atmosphere for you. Beautiful Tien-Shan fir-trees grow in this gorge too. There are many yurts in the gorge, where you can taste the Kyrgyz national cuisine.

You will enjoy the views of untouched nature with majestic mountains. You can also go for a hike or a ride on horseback, while enjoying the natural environment; see the semi-wild yaks, and witness the demonstrations of handicraft art, horse riding art, listen to folk music, drink koumiss and even participate in the installation of the yurt in real Kyrgyz atmosphere. Also, you can hunt with eagles. We then return to the boarding house, have a lunch and relax, and enjoy swimming in the Issyk-Kul lake. Dinner. Accommodation - in “Neptune” boarding house

Day 13: Return to Bishkek

After breakfast we depart to Bishkek. The highway passes through the the Cholpon-Ata and Balykchy cities of the Issik-Kul province, and then crosses into the Chui valley – which is a green “oasis” along the Chu river – the largest river in Central Asia. On the way you can see the mountain ranges of the Ala Too

After 2 hours drive we pass through the serpentines of the beautiful and picturesque gorge called “Boam”. Here you can purchase the fish, honey, koumiss (horse milk), local specialties, and also eat traditional cuisine. On the way you can hear the flowing and see the spectacular views of the river Chu. Lunch. Departure to the Manas airport.
